The Journal of the European Ceramic Society publishes the results of original research relating to the structure, properties and processing of ceramic materials. Papers of either an experimental or theoretical character will be welcomed on a fully international basis. Papers may cover any of the branches of ceramic science and technology and may relate to any of the so called categories, structural, functional and traditional ceramics. The central objective will be to sustain a high standard of research quality by means of appropriate reviewing procedures. The Journal is published for the ECerS by Elsevier Science Publishers Ltd.
The Journal of the European Ceramic Society was ranked No. 1 in the category Materials Science – Ceramics in the latest Clarivate Analytics Journal Citation Reports (2018) with an Impact Factor of 4.029. The Journal has now been top for 9 of the last 10 years and is also top in the 5 year impact factor and the Article Influence Score, which is a measure of the quality of papers published. Accepted articles are typically available online in less than 14 weeks, which compares favourably with other high quality international journals.
